[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Ermland (Warmia) Chapter]
Löbau (Lubawa), 1537-10-25

English register: Dantiscus thanks the Warmia Chapter for their united postulation of him for Warmia bishop. He promises he will be a zealous shepherd to his flock. All other matters will be orally reported by his successor to the Chełmno bishopric, Tiedemann Giese.

Eximii et Venerabiles Domini, Fratres in Christo carissimi. Salutem et omnem felicitatem.

Quod me Dominationes Vestrae [c]oncordibus votis ex mera divina dispositione per reverendissimum dominum Tidemannum Gise electum Culmensem et successorem meum, virum multis nominibus ob summam praeclaram eius erudicionem virtutesque innumeras dignissimum, in episcopum postulaverint, Deo in primis quas mortalis mea tenuitas potest, et deinde quas debeo Dominationibus Vestris gratias habeo, vestrisque adiutus pro divina clementia precibus sic me in ea sede Dominationibus Vestris et gregi commisso praestabo, ut bonae fidei in reddenda ratione pastori convenit. Quemadmodum h[o]c et alia quaedam a me audita reverendissimus dominus electus per oportunitatem Dominationibus Vestris referet. Quas feliciter diutissime valere cupio.
