English register:

Through the servant of the bishop of Kulm (Chełmno) [Tiedemann Giese], Dantiscus sends the friars eight marks in a sealed pouch as alms intended for the purchase of a barrel of herring to feed the friars during Advent. He asks the addressee and his fellow friars for prayers on his behalf and for the souls of the faithful departed. He also sends special greetings to the addressee’s predecessor, Friar Peter.

Religiose Frater in Christo nobis dilecte.

Mittimus vobis in elemosinam per hunc reverendissimi domini Culmensis episcopi puerum consignatas marcas octo, ut vas piscium, quos alec vocant, pro instante Adventu in usum et victum fratrum habere possitis. Pro qua parva benevolentiae nostrae significatione, nihil aliud a vobis petimus, quam ut dominum Deum pro nobis, proque animabus fidelibus defunctis, quibus nos debitores sumus, orare non desinatis.

Bene valete et praedecessorem vestrum fratrem Petrum fratresque omnes nostro more salutabitis.
