Councillors of Royal Prussia to Sigismund I Jagiellon
Löbau (Lubawa) 1539-06-14
English register:

The Prussian councillors ask the King [Sigismund I Jagiellon] to appoint Achatius von Zehmen (Cema) to the office of castellan of Elbing (Elbląg), vacated after the death of Ludwig von Mortangen (Mortęski), and suggest the promotion of Michał Żelisławski to the office of castellan of Gdańsk, hitherto filled by Achatius von Zehmen, the promotion of Fabian von Zehmen (Cema) to the office of chamberlain of Kulm (Chełmno), hitherto filled by Żelisławski, and also the promotion of Johann von Baysen (Bażyński), son of the Voivode of Marienburg (Malbork) and currently Chamberlain of Marienburg, to the office of chamberlain of Pomerania, hitherto filled by Fabian von Zehmen.

Their supplication is in the form of an open letter corroborated only with their own seals and signatures because they do not have the seal of Royal Prussia when they are not gathered in one place. They are also sending the supplication to the Bishop of Ermland (Warmia) [Ioannes Dantiscus], who will clarify the matter to the King on their behalf in a separate letter.
