Hilarius BERTHOLF

Hilarius Bertholf (Hilarius Berthulphus) (†1533), Flamand humanist, familiar of Erasmus of Rotterdam. In 1524 he entered the service of Margaret of Angoulême; from 1530 at the latest, in the service of Dantiscus. At the end of 1531 he went to Lyon, where he worked for François Rabelais and for the printer Sebastianus Gryphius (CE, vol. 1, p. 141-142)
