Alfonso de VALDÉS to Ioannes DANTISCUS

English register:

Valdés asks Dantiscus if he should find him lodgings in the very pleasant town of Covillas de Zerrata, in an out-of-the-way location, 4 miles from Palencia and 5 miles from where Valdés is. It is where the vice-chancellor [Balthasar Merklin von Waldkirch] has been provided with his quarters. Valdés thinks he’ll be leaving the next day after dinner, so he asks for a prompt reply.

ms 1 2 cancellaria⌉. Situs loci nimium placet, est enim remota ab itinere, distans quattuor leucas a Palentia et quinque ab hoc oppido, praeterea audio locum esse amoenissimum. Si placeret Dominationi Vestrae illuc venire, curabo pro parte mea, ut habeat hospitium ac omnia alia ex sententia. Arbitror nos cras discessuros a prandio, quare Dominatio Vestra significet mentem suam desuper.
