In 1492 or 1493 he lost the Kulm canonry because of his marriage to the daughter of the Leipzig town councillor Johann Hummelshain. In his will (1508) Kuppener left his entire property to the town of Löbau; Canon of Kulm (SBPN 2, p. 545; AB 1, p. 376)CuppeneriiChristoph Kuppener (Cuppenerius) (*ca. 1466 – †1511), doctor of both canon and civil law (studied in Leipzig and Bologna), professor of the University of Leipzig.
