Letter #1844

Cornelis DE SCHEPPER to Ioannes DANTISCUS
Lyon, 1538-04-03

English register:

De Schepper declares that at present a host of duties prevent him from writing a long letter, but Fabian [Wojanowski] will recount the news from both Spain and France as well as the circumstances due to which De Schepper has unwillingly forsaken the peace and quiet of home to return to his earlier duties.

De Schepper asks Dantiscus whether he may congratulate him on obtaining the Ermland bishopric. He wants to know if this is a financially advantageous change. He mentions Stabius’ judgment [perhaps a horoscope?].

De Schepper promises to write to Dantiscus further. At present he is not burdened with many affairs but just a single mission, so it will be easier for him to find time for friends.
