Letter #1597

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Mauritius FERBER]
Löbau (Lubawa), 1537-03-16

English register: Dantiscus is returning Ferber his seal, having used it (next to his own) to seal the letter to the king (IDL 1602). He encloses a copy. He also informs Ferber that the letter to the Grand Chancellor (Jan Chojeński) has been posted (IDL 1594). He promises to recount the contents of the replies to both letters as soon as he receives them. He has received a letter from Tiedemann Giese and Felix Reich requesting that he set them a date for their visit in Lubawa to hold talks about the coadjutorship. He has set the date for April 8. He asks Ferber for advice on how he should conduct these talks, especially on the issue of the election capitulations. In the postscript: Dantiscus thanks Ferber for sending a horse for the messenger traveling to Cracow. He writes that before the horse arrived, he had urgent reasons to send the messenger to Cracow earlier, through Toruń, so he could not use the horse for the designated purpose.

Reverendissimae Dominationi Vestrae gratias habeo ingentes, quod equum pro itinere versus Cracoviam saginaverit.
