Letter #1909
Ioannes DANTISCUS to Tiedemann GIESEWormditt (Orneta), 1538-08-28
English register:
Dantiscus has received and signed the letter [to King Sigismund I about changing the date of the Royal Prussian Diet] already signed by Giese and the voivodes, and also the letter Giese sent on the matter of the nobleman [Felix von Allen (Mełdzyński)]. He does not doubt that the King will accede to the requests. He is going to Braunsberg (Braniewo) even though the plague has spread there from Gdańsk.
He proposes that Giese’s consecration take place on the feast of St. Michael in Guttstadt (Dobre Miasto); the co-consecrators are to be the Custos [of Ermland (Warmia), Felix Reich], and the Provost of Guttstadt, [Paweł Snopek].
