Letter #3206
[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to Iacobus [FÜRSTENBERGER (ARCHIMONTANUS)]s.l., [1547-08-11 or shortly after]
English register:
In Dantiscus’ view, the letter to the king [Sigismund I Jagiellon] drafted by the Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno) [Tiedemann Giese] needs no amendment. It appears to be composed in a manner appropriate to the matter to which it pertains. Dantiscus agrees to its being signed and sealed, and to its being conveyed to Johann von Werden together with the two other letters he is sending [letters of recommendation for Werden to Queen Bona Sforza and to Samuel Maciejowski]. He made mention of them in his letter to Werden.
He adds that profuse thanks for his favour were unnecessary.
