English register:

Dantiscus is troubled by the rumours mentioned both in the recipient’s letter and in the letter from his nephew [Kaspar Hannau], which he returns along with the others. He was comforted, however, by news from Doctor [Stanisław] Hozjusz (Hosius), obtained through Mikołaj Maciejowski, who is currently in Ruthenia, near the Hungarian border. It is said that the Germans have achieved a victory over the Turks, with 60,000 reportedly slain. Dantiscus hopes these reports will prove true.

The recipient’s brother [Mikołaj Płotowski?] will inform him about the remaining matters.
