Meindert van HAM

Meindert van Ham (Meinhard von Hamm) (*ca. 1470 – †after 1545), commander of mercenary soldiers in the service of Balthasar Oomkens von Esens, Christian III of Oldenburg, Georg der Bärtige, Duke of Saxony and Charles II of Guelders, chief assistant of the commander of the Guelders army Maarten van Rossum. During the Guelderian Wars in 1536 he occupied Appingedam, terrorised from there the Groninger "Ommelanden" (the region around Groningen) and threatened to invade Holland. In that same year he was defeated by Georg Schenck von Tautenburg
