Ermolao BARBARO

Ermolao Barbaro (*1454 – †1493), Venetian scholar, diplomat, and interpreter of Aristotle. In 1491 Pope Innocent VIII appointed him Patriarch of Aquileia. For this reason he was accused of treason by the Venetian Senate, and exiled from the Republic (CE, vol. 1, p. 91-92)
