Letter #5811

Cornelis DE SCHEPPER to Ioannes DANTISCUS
[Brussels?], [1531-03-04 — 1531-03-05?]

English register:

De Schepper thanks Dantiscus for comforting him in the difficulties he mentioned in his last letter. However difficult, he will bear his fate with equanimity and put his trust in his integrity. He emphasises that he acted with good intent.

The Emperor [Charles V] has gone hunting.

De Schepper will visit Dantiscus this evening. When appropriate, he will accompany him to [Hendrik of] Nassau or the Prince-Bishop of Liège [Erard de la Marck]. He is counting on Dantiscus to obtain the support of both of them if necessary. He will follow the advice of Dantiscus.
