Letter #3885

Ioannes [DANTISCUS] to [Paweł PŁOTOWSKI]
Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1539-08-20

English register:

Dantiscus is happy that the addressee has been restored to good health and praises his decision to leave the regions where the plague has spread.

He expects news from the [royal] court soon. The King [Sigismund I Jagiellon] has moved the Diet of Royal Prussia to St. Michael’s Day [September 29], commanding the members of the Prussian Council to set a place that is safe from the plague, which will not be easy in the current situation. Dantiscus will inform the addressee of any decisions on the matter.
