Letter #2309
Ioannes [DANTISCUS] to [Nicolaus HUMAN]Heilsberg (Lidzbark Warmiński), 1540-04-27
English register:
Having sent the addressee to Allenstein (Olsztyn) to interrogate the administrator [Achatius Trenck], Dantiscus learned that Leonard Niederhoff would also be arriving there. Therefore, he instructs the addressee to swear in and interrogate Niederhoff as well, and, as with the other canons, to report the results of interrogation.
Dantiscus instructs that the addressee must not disclose the contents of the Custos’ [Johann Tymmermann] letter to anyone except the administrator. He expects the letter to be returned along with the administrator’s opinion on its contents.
