Letter #1616

[Ioannes DANTISCUS] to [Mauritius FERBER]
Löbau (Lubawa), 1537-04-04

English register: Dantiscus is replying to Ferber’s letter concerning the Warmia coadjutorship. He thanks him for the copy of Ferber’s letter to the Warmia canon custos (Tiedemann Giese). Dantiscus is pleased that Ferber has shown him such trust and proposes that the planned talks with the delegation of the Warmia Chapter about the election capitulations be held in Ferber’s house. This would enable Dantiscus to consult with Ferber about his position during the talks. He promises he will try to cause as little trouble as possible by his visit. In the postscript: Dantiscus informs Ferber that the conflict between the residents of Elbląg and Żuławy has been returned by the Royal Council to be reconsidered by the inspectors and then by the Prussian assembly. The verdict of the assembly is to be sent to the king. The queen is very worried about this matter.
