Reverendissime mi Domine.

Tametsi litteris manu mea ad Dominationem Vestram Reverendissimam per spectabilem dominum Georgium Georg Schewecke (Georg Scheffke) (*1491 – †1547), 1522 Gdańsk alderman; 1525 - town councillor; 1528 - judge; 1531 - mayor; 1536-1537, 1540, 1542-1545 - burgrave; 1534 Gdańsk envoy to convention in Lüneburg in affairs of seafaring and conflicts with Lübeck (AT 15, p. 501, 510; AT 16/1, p. 42, 44; ZDRENKA 2, p. 275)Georgium ScheffkeGeorg Schewecke (Georg Scheffke) (*1491 – †1547), 1522 Gdańsk alderman; 1525 - town councillor; 1528 - judge; 1531 - mayor; 1536-1537, 1540, 1542-1545 - burgrave; 1534 Gdańsk envoy to convention in Lüneburg in affairs of seafaring and conflicts with Lübeck (AT 15, p. 501, 510; AT 16/1, p. 42, 44; ZDRENKA 2, p. 275) praeconsulem Gedanensem, affinem meum, datis dedignata sit respondere, quin potius coram nonnullis contemptim Ioannes Dantiscus (Johannes von Höfen, Ioannes de Curiis, Jan Dantyszek, Johannes Flachsbinder) (*1485 – †1548), eminent diplomat and humanist in the service of the Jagiellons, neo-Latin poet; 1530-1537 Bishop of Kulm; 1537-1548 Bishop of ErmlandDantiscumIoannes Dantiscus (Johannes von Höfen, Ioannes de Curiis, Jan Dantyszek, Johannes Flachsbinder) (*1485 – †1548), eminent diplomat and humanist in the service of the Jagiellons, neo-Latin poet; 1530-1537 Bishop of Kulm; 1537-1548 Bishop of Ermland verbis non admodum amicis afficere se non continuerit, nihil tamen in eo erga Dominationem Vestram Reverendissimam benevolentiae meae observantiam laesam sentio, quae, ut hanc schedam praescriberem, effecit. Infitias iri nequit, nos aliquando fuisse tenebras, nunc autem oramus sedulo, ut lux simus in Domino, qui corda novit omnium et ad se redeuntes non reicit poenitentes.

Ego quidem quorundam apud nos calumnias, qui gynaecium in comitatu Dominationis Vestrae Reverendissimae reprehendebant, quantum potui pro honestate Dominationis Vestrae Reverendissimae refellebam, qua item in re socium habui Tiedemann Giese (Tidemannus Gisius) (*1480 – †1550), in 1519 ennobled by King Sigismund I; 1504-1538 Canon of Ermland (Warmia); 1516-1527, 1533-1537 Judicial Vicar and Vicar General of Ermland; 1523-1538 Custos of Ermland; 1537-1549 Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno); 1549-1550 Bishop of Ermland (BORAWSKA 1984, passim)reverendissimum dominum CulmensemTiedemann Giese (Tidemannus Gisius) (*1480 – †1550), in 1519 ennobled by King Sigismund I; 1504-1538 Canon of Ermland (Warmia); 1516-1527, 1533-1537 Judicial Vicar and Vicar General of Ermland; 1523-1538 Custos of Ermland; 1537-1549 Bishop of Kulm (Chełmno); 1549-1550 Bishop of Ermland (BORAWSKA 1984, passim). Quae nobis refertur compensatio, liquet, cum ille de haeresi et de ingluvie Ioannes Dantiscus (Johannes von Höfen, Ioannes de Curiis, Jan Dantyszek, Johannes Flachsbinder) (*1485 – †1548), eminent diplomat and humanist in the service of the Jagiellons, neo-Latin poet; 1530-1537 Bishop of Kulm; 1537-1548 Bishop of ErmlandDantiscusIoannes Dantiscus (Johannes von Höfen, Ioannes de Curiis, Jan Dantyszek, Johannes Flachsbinder) (*1485 – †1548), eminent diplomat and humanist in the service of the Jagiellons, neo-Latin poet; 1530-1537 Bishop of Kulm; 1537-1548 Bishop of Ermland ex quadam vehementia, quam olim accedens aetas temperabit, insimulatur, super quibus Dei sit iudicium.

Quod ad me attinet, si quid ex officio, ad quod iusiurandum me astrinxit, facio non satis Dominationi Vestrae Reverendissimae gratum, ne ob id, quaeso, causari velit me a nostra olim inter nos inita amicitia descivisse, quam apud me firmam esse, vel hoc praebeat indicium, quod hic, apud ecclesiam meam, si qui Włocławek diocesedioecesisWłocławek diocese Dominationis Vestrae Reverendissimae sacris initiari postulaverint, me studiosum offero suffraganeum. Qua in re si ex veteri amore voluntatis suae certam significationem mihi fecerit, acceptum mihi erit hoc a Dominatione Vestra Reverendissima plurimum.

Cui commendatissimus esse cupio etc.
